Robert De Niro is a Hollywood star and icon that pretty much everyone knows. The “tough guy” from Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, Niro has made an iconic mark in the movie industry. But the Academy Award winner Robert De Niro had been through some rough times a few years ago. In 2003, De Niro was diagnosed with prostate cancer, at the age of 60. Fortunately, his condition was detected at an early state, mainly due to his regular checkups as a result of his proactive personal healthcare program. The actor proved to be a tough guy on and off-screen as he battled his cancer and went on to make a full recovery. After beating cancer in 2011, De Niro became a father for the sixth time, at the age of 68; his daughter was born via surrogate to him and his wife, Grace Hightower.
