2. Some cases are serious

Although it’s not a life threatning disease, in more extreme cases BPH may be serious as it could block urine flow completely, causing pain and bladder damage which requires further treatment to repair. It is also possible other problems needing treatment may occur, like urinary tract infection, kidney obstruction and/or bladder stones.
