It is well regarded that almost every man will suffer from prostate problems at some point in their lives. One of the most common prostate problems is non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate, called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
But how do you know if you have BPH? Here’s a list of enlarged prostate symptoms.
Enlargement of the prostate means that the prostate gland gets bigger, causing a blockage of the urine flow. Since the prostate is located just below the bladder and surrounding the urethra, its enlargement can restrict the flow of urine from the bladder. As a result, men have difficulties in urinating, can’t fully empty their bladder, and always feel the urge to run to the bathroom.
TURP (Transurethral Resection of Prostrate) and Urolift are just some of the treatment options available to treat BPH, but which one is better? In this video, shared by Urology Times, listen to Dr. Neil Baum, MD, as he compares UroLift with other BPH management strategies and also discusses his experience with the use of nitrous oxide as an effective sedative during in-office urologic procedures.
