BPH: The Other Prostate Problem That Is Not Cancer

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also called benign prostatic hypertrophy or enlarged prostate, is a disease that affects men. Due to BPH, the vast majority of men develop an abnormal enlargement of the prostate, which affects the urinary and reproductive systems.

But how do you know if you have BPH? Here’s a list of enlarged prostate symptoms.

Enlarged prostate means that the prostate gland gets bigger, causing a blockage of the urine flow. BPH is not cancerous and does not cause cancer, but the symptoms of this condition are very similar to prostate cancer symptoms (in the cases that prostate cancer shows symptoms).

In this video shared by Dr. David B. Samadi, in 2012, where BPH is discussed, the condition is explained, as well as its symptoms, how it can be diagnosed and possible treatment options available to ease benign prostatic hyperplasia symptoms.
