Using TURP to Treat BPH: A Patient’s Testimonial

At some point in their life, almost every man will suffer from prostate problems, and one of the most common prostate problems is enlargement of the prostate, called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This is a non-cancerous condition that causes a lot of discomfort in men but it’s not life-threatening.

Want to know if you have BPH? Here’s a list of symptoms of enlarged prostate.

Enlargement of the prostate means that the prostate gland gets bigger, causing a blockage of the urine flow. Since the prostate is located just below the bladder and surrounding the urethra, its enlargement can restrict the flow of urine from the bladder. As a result, men have difficulties in urinating, can’t fully empty their bladder, and always feel the urge to run to the bathroom.

TURP (Transurethral Resection of Prostrate) is one of the types of treatment men undergo to treat BPH. In this video, shared by Sunrise Urology, listen to Dr. John C. Lin of Sunrise Urology in Gilbert, Arizona, talking to a patient as he shares his testimonial about using TURP as a treatment for his condition.

You can listen to him explain how his life changed just for the simple fact that he no longer needs to wake up several times a night to use the bathroom.
