Benign prostate hyperplasia is also known as enlarged prostate. The condition causes urinary problems primarily, but it can also lead to sexual dysfunction.
There are four main causes of benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH):
1. Age
The number one factor for BPH is age. The prostate continues to grow through a man’s life but tends to grow faster and larger as he ages into and through his senior years. Some men will see no consequences, others may develop BPH.
