2. Is There a Right Smell for Pee?
In a healthy person who keeps well hydrated, the urine tends to have a light smell. However, the smell of the pee is also influenced by numerous factors. Drinking coffee or eating asparagus are some examples of things that can alter the smell of the pee, but are not harmful. In the case of a foul smell, it may mean the patient has a urinary tract infection (UTI), while sweet smell may be a sign of diabetes or liver disease and a musty smell may be related to a metabolic disease.
